Kansas Couple Earns Gelbvieh

Member of the Year Honors

 
 

Stuart and Donna Jarvis of Phillipsburg, Kan., were honored as the American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) Members of the Year during the 2006 AGA National Convention in Denver, Colo. The Member of the Year award recognizes a member actively promotes the Gelbvieh breed and dedicates time to the programs of the American Gelbvieh Association at the state and national level.

 

Stuart and Donna Jarvis own and operate Bar Arrow Cattle Company near Phillipsburg. They run nearly 900 head of seedstock and commercial cows. They host an annual production sale in partnership with Spring Valley Farms. The Jarvis family has been active members of the American Gelbvieh Association since 1983.

 

Stuart and Donna served more than six years as advisors to the Kansas Junior Gelbvieh Association. Under their leadership Kansas hosted two regional junior shows and a national junior show. The Kansas juniors have won the State Challenge Cup at the national junior show three out of the last six years.

 

Stuart and Donna keep busy with the farm, as well as Donna works for the school district. They have two children, Cody and Kayla, who are active in junior Gelbvieh activities.
